Marvel’s Wolverine is less than a week away from launch, and Marvel has released a new live-action trailer putting Logan’s violent side front and center.

The short promotional film arrived on September 9, just days before Insomniac Games’ PlayStation 5 title launches on September 15, 2026.

Rather than presenting new gameplay footage, the trailer translates Wolverine’s defining traits into live action. Logan is portrayed as a man who can be pushed only so far before the claws come out, with the video emphasizing close-quarters brutality and the character’s instinctive response to danger.

The campaign arrives at the final stage of Sony’s marketing push for Marvel’s Wolverine, a game first announced in 2021 and developed by Insomniac Games in collaboration with Marvel Games.

Insomniac has described its take on Wolverine as a standalone adventure built around Logan rather than an extension of the studio’s Spider-Man storylines.

The game follows Logan across multiple locations while focusing on his search for answers about his past. Combat is designed around Wolverine’s claws, healing ability and aggressive fighting style, with encounters built to feel more physical and direct than the acrobatic battles associated with Insomniac’s Spider-Man games.

Sony’s official material has also emphasized the game’s cinematic presentation, globe-spanning environments and a darker tone suited to Wolverine.

The live-action trailer does not reveal a new mechanic, character or location. Its purpose is promotional: it reinforces the personality and violence associated with Logan immediately before release.

That distinction matters because the footage should not be interpreted as representative of the game’s graphics or moment-to-moment gameplay. It is a live-action advertisement inspired by the game and its protagonist.

Marvel’s Wolverine is being developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 5.

The September release gives Insomniac another major Marvel project after Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, while allowing the studio to move into a character whose abilities and temperament support a substantially different style of combat.

With launch now only days away, the new trailer is less about introducing the project and more about defining the version of Logan players are about to meet.

Marvel’s Wolverine launches exclusively for PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026.
